The Role
We are seeking a Permanent Full-Time Assistant Spa Manager to join our team at Merse Wellness Spa – Virginia.
This role will operate on a Sunday through Thursday roster, supporting the Spa Manager in the day-to-day operations and sales performance of the spa. There is also potential for this role to transition into a full-time position as the spa continues to grow.
Assistant Spa Managers play a vital role in ensuring the front-of-house operations run smoothly, supervising the reception team, assisting clients, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring every person who walks through our doors receives a memorable experience with every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Spa Manager in the day-to-day operations, performance, and sales of Merse Wellness Spa
- Deliver exceptional front-of-house customer service, greeting clients, managing enquiries, responding to feedback, and ensuring a premium client experience
- Drive membership and retail sales by managing calls, walk-ins, lead follow-ups, and upselling services to existing clients
- Maintain spa presentation and operational standards, ensuring facilities, sauna rooms, and treatment areas are clean, safe, and ready for use
- Oversee spa inventory and supplies, including linen management, weekly stocktakes, and supplier communication
- Assist with marketing initiatives and promotions to grow spa awareness and bookings
- Support team leadership activities, including staff training, inductions, dress standards, and assisting with rostering
- Maintain clear communication and reporting with the Spa Manager while supporting operational readiness across the spa
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous experience supervising or working within a Spa, Wellness Centre, Health Club, or similar service environment
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life
- A friendly, professional, and well-presented personality with excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a solutions-focused mindset
- A proactive “can-do” attitude with a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive team environment
- Highly organised, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
