The Role
In this vital role, you’ll lead the customer service experience within the club while overseeing and developing the reception team.
You’ll be the driving force behind member engagement, service standards, and retention, creating an energetic and welcoming environment for every member interaction — whether in person or over the phone.
This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing frontline service, team management, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional member service at reception, including enquiries, bookings, and day-to-day support
- Lead, train, and support the Reception team, driving performance and service standards
- Drive customer service KPIs and retention outcomes through team leadership and engagement
- Manage member accounts, including overdue accounts and account-related enquiries
- Handle calls, feedback, and complaints, ensuring timely and professional resolution
- Utilise systems to manage member data, purchases, access tags, and class bookings
- Support retail and café operations, including sales of supplements, apparel, and preparing café items
- Maintain club presentation and cleanliness, ensuring reception, café, and retail areas are always well-presented
- Support Club Operations Managers and assist with daily operations, opening/closing duties, and task prioritisation
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
- Experience in a customer service or KPI-driven environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, support, and resolve issues
- A customer-first mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences
- Confident in problem-solving, multitasking, and working in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, reliable, proactive, and well-presented with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable using systems and learning new technology (computer literacy required)
- Flexible availability to support gym operating hours (including early starts, evenings, and weekends)
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain) + Australian working rights
