The Role

Retail Managers are a major part of the “Engine Room” of our business. They promote and represent our company, values and culture. As the face of the business, you’ll be responsible for the Pro-Shop and Barbell Café at our Mackay club.

Working alongside the Customer Service Manager and Club Manager, you’ll oversee the retail and reception teams, help maintain a high level of customer service and maximise sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Retail Assistants, providing training and ongoing support to new employees.
• Prepare rosters with the Customer Service Manager to ensure adequate coverage at busy times.
• Track retail sales, order supplements, food and beverages, and assist with stock control.
• Keep up to date with current products and new products entering the market.
• Work with the Retail team to meet and exceed sales targets and other KPIs.
• Create daily Facebook and Instagram posts.
• Follow directions, prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• At least three years’ retail sales supervisory experience, ideally in the fitness industry or with nutrition and supplements.
• A strong drive to achieve individual targets and team goals.
• Experience working in a KPI-driven environment.
• The ability to build rapport with people from varied backgrounds and support them in achieving their goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, understand, empathise and influence.
• A customer-focused approach and commitment to exceptional service.
• The ability to role-model healthy values and behaviours and represent the Fitness Cartel brand with passion.
• A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to learn and grow.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional presentation.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt, multitask and show initiative.
• Computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems.
• The ability to communicate and uphold company policies and procedures with customers and staff.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current Australian working rights.
