The Opportunity

As Club General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of Fitness Cartel Cairns.

You’ll lead the club through pre-sales, launch and ongoing growth, creating an environment where performance thrives, members feel inspired and your team delivers an outstanding fitness experience every day.

Working closely with our Executive Team, Regional Performance Managers and Directors, you’ll have the autonomy and support to build a thriving club and strong local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the launch of our brand-new Cairns club, setting the tone for culture, energy and performance.

• Execute the club’s pre-sale strategy and achieve ambitious membership targets.

• Recruit, train and inspire a high-performing founding team.

• Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, results and engagement.

• Drive membership growth through outreach, partnerships, referrals, B2B lead generation and events.

• Plan marketing campaigns across social media, SMS and email to generate leads and build awareness.

• Monitor sales performance, retention and financial outcomes, reporting results to senior leadership.

• Use systems including Clubware, Debit Success and Gym Sales to track leads, conversions and performance.

• Support operational readiness for opening, including procedures, systems and coordination with senior leadership.

• Oversee key club operations and mentor department leaders across Crèche, Retail and Café.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven leadership experience in a large “Big Box” gym environment, ideally with 20+ staff and 2,000+ members.

• An experienced sales leader with a strong track record in KPI-driven environments.

• A people-focused leader who communicates well, builds rapport and leads from the front.

• An organised, solutions-focused professional with strong systems skills and a growth mindset.

• A genuine passion for fitness and helping people achieve their goals.
