We are a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging workplace. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a People & Culture Partner who shares our vision and values. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards and ensuring our employees feel valued and supported.

The Role:

The People & Culture Partner will be a vital member of our People and Culture team, reporting directly to the Head of People and Culture. As a People & Culture Partner, you will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement, and supporting the growth and development of our team. You will provide essential guidance to Club managers, serving as the onsite subject matter expert, delivering generalist HR responsibilities, and ensure compliance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Support: Provide guidance and administrative support to line managers on HR challenges, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, workplace health and safety, workers compensation, and HR systems.
  • Workplace Relations: Support Club managers with workplace relations matters, including performance management, investigations, mediations, and grievance handling, ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • Employee & Industrial Relations: Manage employee and industrial relations matters to drive outcomes, mitigate risk, and provide reports to senior management.
  • Change Management: Facilitate and contribute to change management initiatives within the organization.
  • Compliance: Work with the management team to ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) standards, award conditions, and accurate record-keeping using Opcentral.
  • Training & Development: Provide induction and onboarding training as needed. Monitor and ensure compliance with onboarding procedures for managers.
  • Collaboration: Participate in meetings with Club General Managers and Senior Management to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Personal Development: Attend training sessions to support personal and professional growth.
  • Leadership: Lead by example by aligning with the company’s values, acting ethically, and being a role model for healthy living.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Undertake additional duties as required to support the business.

What you'll need to succeed:

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in human resources, with experience managing the full employee lifecycle. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the challenge of balancing multiple priorities. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in generalist HR roles, supporting managers at various levels of the organisation.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and industrial relations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and talent development.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems such as XERO and Op Central is a plus.
  • A proactive and reliable approach, with a commitment to professional integrity.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations and navigate complex employee issues.
  • Willingness to travel to different clubs to support the managers in meetings and provide face-to-face guidance.
